    New build: S40 2020

I found the Soma Gator handlebars were a bit too long on the drops (hard to get on and off bike). Changed to the supplied Cruzbike handlebars along with SRAM Red AXS brifters and AXS GX Eagle derailleur (mullet build). Ergonomic and great ride with less cables in the line of vision.

    They stole my Silvio

Hi Bladderhead, I concur that going from Silvio (aluminium seat) to S40 (carbon seat- what an amazing material- stiff yet light) does make one feel more connected to the bike. Kendrick Ps. I think Cruzbike is now based around Newburyport/Boston

    New build: S40 2020

Hi Jon, Finally managed to meet up with JT. He remembers your visit to Perth and says hi. Generally approved S40 (after all, the shape and triangle/BB attachments are fundamentally unchanged). He did seem to like the ability to use 1x12 and the underseat rack. He wasn’t planning on trying out...

    TIGR mini bike lock ?

I have most variants of the Tigr locks and agree it is good (especially being able to order same keyed). Find that the Tigr mini+ https://tigrlock.com/collections/all-products/products/blue-mini-plus (not sold on the Cruzbike store) is best for locking Cruzbikes as it has the rectangular...

    New build: S40 2020

Hi Moose, I agree with cpml123 & bladderhead. (I built from frameset, not upgraded from stock) "The XDR standard is nearly identical to XD but 1.8mm wider" (see https://www.xddriverbody.com) Other option to get more range on 1x11 would be third party, Helix ie...

    New build: S40 2020

Hi Andrew, I’m glad you managed to discover the video over in Kenya and that it led to your own dedicated journey of building your own MBB recumbent (that is amazing in itself). As for the video, I was the camera operator and was kinda surprised at the time that we didn’t redo it (helicopter...

    New build: S40 2020

Hi Jon, Sorry haven't met up with JT yet. We will hopefully be out of lockdown next week. in comparison to original- I like the 1x12 drivetrain simplicity (no dropped chain), and disc brakes (for wet weather riding). Still not sure about the headrest. I will probably keep the original Silvio...

    New build: S40 2020

Tried out the 42x52t combination on a ~12% hill, it worked very well especially the 16% incline section where I previously had front wheel slip on the Silvio 1.0 (53/39 x 12-25 cassette, 25mm 700c tyres).

Silvio Pictorial History - Request pics and info from the tribe

Hi Larry, First batch, Silvio V1. Built by JT. JT's Prototype Silvio- only visible difference I noted was elastomer in the rear shock wasn't covered by the rubber boot. JT testing prototype with fairing. Thumbnails of rare Yellow and White Silvio V1 seat. Attached Silvio V1 Technical...

Hi Jay, I measured the brake cable, (S40 2020), you’ll need a longer cable ~2000mm. Regards Kendrick
