The more your ride your cruzbike the more you will love it:

Just a quick "Hi"(edit-maybe not so quick) to all here as I have been the proud owner of a new V2 Softrider for the last week or so and I have to say, so far it's been excellent fun. More..

Cruzbikes are great because they do so many things well an you can enjoy them at any speed. --Jack O

- Jack, Savannah, Georgia

My cruzbike is a converted KHS softail mountainbike, with high pressure slicks. I'm very much happier on my Cruzbike than when I had to ride it upright -- its _so_ much more comfortable & enjoyable. I mainly ride on a half-flat/half-hilly 10k commute to work.

Just a short note to wish you and everyone at Cruzbike a Merry Christmas and a great New Year. I am the one who broke my right arm 5/30/07 and purchased a Sofrider to do the RAGBRAI (ride across Iowa) in July. After only a couple of weeks of owning the bike and recouping from the injuries following a fall off my old road bike, I had hoped to complete a couple of days in Iowa. The bike was so comfortable that I completed 4 days and 300 miles! I saw only one other Cruzbike on the ride and he was enjoying the ride as much as I was. The bike did everything you all claimed it would. I couldn't have been happier. Several times others on " regular" bikes would ask how it was... my reply was the same each time...."No pressure points at all!" The balancing point in the middle of the shoulders was very comfortable. Thanks for the early encouragement when I called. We are under snow now but as soon as Spring breaks through I'll be out riding. Thanks. Happy Holidays!

- Rich, Morton, NY

We just wanted to let you know that we love the Freerider! We just ordered another one so we can stop racing each other to it when we get ready to ride...no matter how much great exercise that may be.

Honestly, we love this bike! We can't wait to ride! We have found so many great little roads that we didn't even know were there! What a great concept and design! It is sooooo comfortable! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

After major back surgery I wake up each day stiff and in pain. A short ride to work and I'm good for the rest of the day.

- Martin, Lincolnshire, England

I've owned many recumbents now, and this one has a huge number of advantages. It's a solid piece of engineering; there was much thought put into the design. Kudos (and I don't say any of that lightly)!

- Kieth.

Finally have decent weather and got out Sunday & today. Maiden voyage was 10 miles and I repeated that today. Having never ridden a recumbent, the 1st few minutes was like the Twilight Zone, but then I relaxed and things went fine. Today was better, more comfortable and confident. It is great getting off the bike w/o low back pain or numb buttocks, not to mention the palm pain that I experience on my upright hybrid (padded gloves notwithstanding). I'm sold & happy! Thank you!

- Jim, Newmarket, NH

Thank you for this note. I did receive my Cruzbike and I really enjoy it. I had originally ordered a USS recumbent from another supplier (my first bent), but sent it back when it just wasn't right. I had been looking at the Cruzbike, and thought I just had to try it. It's amazing! I found after a few weeks the steering really straightened out and I love riding it every day.

Thanks for marketing a quality product.

- Larry, Cedar Hills, Utah

I had seen Tom Traylor's website and was thinking about building a FWD recumbent before I found out about you guys. I'm sure glad you saved me the trouble. Keep up the good work.

- Paul, Richland, Washington

Yesterday evening my friend David came over and we put the Sofrider together. David and Linda (my wife) about died laughing as they watched me ride for the first time! As soon as he tried to ride it, he decided that I hadn't done so badly after all! It didn't take him long to fall in love with Sofrider. (He had the recumbent grin!) He'll probably end up getting one also. [I believe he did - Ed.]

When I relaxed backwards, I had an incredibly smooth and fluid ride. I'm looking forward to getting out on the Cruzbike and riding this evening!

- Rob, Des Moines, IA

If u are interested in feedback; the pic below shows the almost completed project. U're right, it does all fit, and what's more, it accepts the OEM Rohloff hub without modification, or messy torque arms etc. That's a major plus for me as I'm not fond of derailleurs. ... Thanks for a well sorted kit.

- Edward, Invergordon, Scotland

You did do a good job designing the parts. I was impressed with how tight the tolerance is on the components and how tough it is.

- Gary, Southfield, MI

Yesterday was my first real, steady ride. We are having a blast and love our bikes.

- Kim and Robert, Council Bluffs, Iowa

I've got the usual malfunctions that go with the age, arthritis in the hips and a missing disc between two lumbar vertabrae. Riding the bike makes the hip pain go away and the recumbent position really helps the back--over the upright position.

- Bob, Walnut Ridge, Arkansas

I have about 10,000 miles on my bike now. Several people have contacted me about it... It still causes maham everywhere I ride it. With 53 tooth crank and 16 tooth rear (or lower) I cruse at about 20 mph.

Kit Testimonials

Customers who built their own Cruzbike using our custom kit have strong opinions. Here's the views of some of them:

Doug Burton on his Cruzbike 'Hiroad'.

The ride: 155 miles over two days, to benefit the Central Va. chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Between the two of us we raised $2800.00 for the charity.

I was virtually unable to train for the ride this year due to business demands and my daughter's soccer schedule. I was truly concerned I would have difficulty completing the ride this year. Also, I was concerned that I would not have built up sufficient upper body strength to be comfortable with 6 hours riding time each day on the Cruzbike. Well, the bike proved both of these concerns groundless. The shoulder loading was completely transparent, and probably prevented the "pinched" feeling I used to get in my shoulder blades on my Vision Recumbent on this ride.

I couldn't believe how good I felt on day two [which] I credit the oscillating nature of the Cruzbike drivetrain for evening-out the stresses on my legs.

Lower bottom-bracket height also kept lots of blood going to my legs and toes - can't do that on a conventional high- racer. Cruzbike climbing system - got a few interesting comments passing a few uprights uphill - didn't always happen, but the counter- pull climbing ability of the MBB design definately works.

At the end of the ride I was tired, but nothing was screaming GET ME OFF OF THIS BIKE. It's great not to have your thoughts absorbed by one aching body part.

So I think the Cruzbike concept has incredible long-distance potential built right-in. If not before, we'll try it again for the Seagull Century in October (7500 riders) (provided it's not wiped- out by a hurricane like last year!)

Doug Burton, Glen Allen, Virginia

Gary Rhodes with his go-anywhere Cruzbike.

Before getting his Cruzbike, he kept several recumbent bikes in his garage to suit all occasions. Now he keeps one – the Cruzbike – because it suits all occasions.

As I have said before the Cruzbike is a wonder. Once you are on a Cruzbike, other recumbents pale by comparison. Here are some things I have found. The Cruzbike:

  • Adjusts the fastest of any bike I have ever ridden.

  • It out rides all my other bikes ( I own seven other recumbents).

  • It climbs the best of any recumtbent I have ever tried or owned. Even with the 1.95 tires I have on it.

  • It has superb balance.

  • It rides the quietest of any bike I own.

  • If you want to ride really hard you can also get an upper body work out.

  • The bottom bracket adjusts to different heights-- the only one that does in the world to my knowledge.

  • The seat is very strong and I have grown to love it. It also adjusts to the weight neutral position very easily and this makes it very comfortable.

  • It's the only duel 26 inch short wheel base bike that can have a low bottom bracket. (you don't have to stare at your knees all day)

  • You can use a regular bike chain. (you no longer need to buy 3 or 4)

  • It is the closest thing to riding like a diamond frame of any recumbent I have ever ridden.

  • Front wheel drive makes this the best recumbent I have ever ridden in gravel.

  • It has a lot of room for luggage. (no chain or derailer to get in the way)

  • You can buy a second hand frame if you want from many shops or sales and still come up with a great bike.

  • Both little and big people can ride the same bike with just a few seconds of adjustment.

  • You can put it on a regular bike rack because it's a regular bike frame. (I really love that part.)

  • It's the only recumbent that rides very well hands off.(that you can steer) I did that today for a few yards after only one week.
