2026 Bike Sebring Records and Results | Team Cruzbike
The 2026 Sebring 12/24 Bike Race was a banner event not only for the amazing results posted by Matthew Lefthand (612 miles in 24 hours, more than any American has ever gone in 24 hours on any bike) but also for the feats of endurance, both mental and physical (and a new record), posted by other Cruzbike V20c riders.
Ultra-cyclists have been converging on Sebring, Florida in February for over 20 years, to see how many miles they can cover in 24-hours on the flat Florida terrain. In 2025, Matthew Lefthand raced 576.17 miles on a standard bike, smashing the standard bike non-drafing record set by Evens Stievenart in 2019 (535.38 miles).
In 2026, after only 6-months on a Cruzbike V20c, Matthew raced 612.38 miles, smashing the recumbent non-drafting record set by Dennis Grelk in 2007 (522 miles). He is the first American to surpass 600 miles in 24-hours and the first person in the world to do so during an open road event like Bike Sebring.
Cruzbike, with 9 entries, was the only recumbent brand represented in the Bike Sebring racing field and represented more than 10% of total participants. We joke about "winning the recumbent niche," and this year's Bike Sebring is strong of evidence that our Dynamic Boom Front Wheel Drive technology has indeed earned dominance in recumbent bicycle racing. We love strong competition and spending the weekend with Cruzbike customers who spend so many hours training and preparing for this event was an honor.
First, thanks to Larry Oslund, Cruzbike customer and dealer, who put on a great race. The 3.7 mile loop is fast, safe and makes support easy. Awards were done in a timely manner and Larry was a constant presence encouraging all of us.
24 Hour Non-Drafting Bike Sebring Race Results for Cruzbike Riders
In addition to Matthew Leftahand, we had 4 racers entered in the 24 hour race: Otto Walter (456 miles), John Crawford (403 miles), David Lelijini (403 miles), and Dominic Brownlow (224 miles). Dominic had to withdraw early due to medical issues, but put down serious miles in the first 12 hours.
Otto’s incredible mileage was despite mechanical issues. To see John and David persist through the wee hours of the morning in the dark and cold on Sunday was inspirational. It’s a lifetime and rare goal to complete 400 miles in 24 hours. We’re so impressed by you!
6 Hour Team Race Results for Cruzbike Riders
Jim and I did the 6 hour race as a team and put up 131 miles (averaging 22 mph), alternating each hour. We were delighted with our efforts.
12 Hour Bike Sebring Race Results for Cruzbike Riders
We had two stand-out performances in the 12 hour:
Michael Griffith, racing for the first time on a Cruzbike, did 187 miles in 12 hours, despite a flat tire. Welcome to the team, Michael.
Laura Crawford set a new course record for women in the 12 hour.
Laura rode an amazing 235 miles in 12 hours! She was also second overall in the race among all racers, men and women!
Thank you
Thanks to all the Cruzbike customers and family members who supported us at the event and from afar. The Sebring 2026 event was a powerful demonstration of what is possible on a Cruzbike, but more importantly, it highlighted the incredible spirit and tenacity of the Cruzbike community.

I have spoken with you in the past about the q45 and riding this bike across America while pulling a burley logo trailer. If it helps with the conversation I was station @ Ft Bragg from 87 to 89. And now the new a4x is out…
Do you have a side by side comparisons?
Weight difference, and angle of seat are the main things I am looking at, AND whatever you suggest that might be helpful?
Is the Q45 being replaced?
Scale of 1 to 10 what would you rate both bikes for touring?
I might be able to call in next week I am living in Lima Peru and this week is when my Spanish classes are and not sure about next week schedule yet.
