Q45 Derailleur Stalk
I didn't have a great experience with the Q45 derailleur stalk. I found it a bit flimsy at the connection. It didn't put the front derailleur in the correct position so I had to bend it several times, which loosened the stalk and I had to tighten it, all the while I worried about breaking it. I kind of got it to work but I worried that it wouldn't be stable over time. I would have preferred that the Q45 came with a welded stalk.

Front Derailleur Stalk for the S-40
The Front Derailleur Stalk turns S-40 into a 2X from a 1X system. Installation was quick and easy. I replaced the original equipment with Shimano 105 drive componets, however I kept the large chainwheel gearing at 42T and added the second chainwheel with 34T. Also kept the original 11-42 cassette, but replaced the o.e. rear derailleur using a Shimano GRX derailleur. Ebay had the left and right 11 speed Shimano shifters. The Stalk changed the S-40 into bike that is not only fast, but climbs like crazy. Cruzbike shipped the Stalk quickly and provide the “pulley wheel” at no charge. (They now include the pulley wheel” with the stalk).

Good reason to use a 1x system
I ordered one of these as I wanted to build a 2x system for my S40. Ultimately it worked but it was not without problems. The installation video mentions that the fit of the tube into the hole in the frame might be tight and require some filing. In my case, not only did the hole require some filing but due to the excessive size of the welds on the frame I had to do additional filing to make it fit square and tight. The video also shows installing a pulley which is required for the derailleur cable BUT THE PULLEY IS NOT INCLUDED - it is another $25 item (plus $10 shipping). Luckily I was planning an eTap system so no cable was required, but then I acquired a used V20 where someone had obviously also run into the "pulley not included" issue and tried some creative cabling to avoid needing one. This item should contain a warning that is only useful to build a wireless 2x system and/or contain an option to purchase the pulley at the same time (no option for this in accessories) to avoid frustration, wasted time, and excessive shipping charges. Having the pulley as a separate item since some may not need it is fine, but having to discover it is missing when needed, then figure out how to order it is unacceptable.

Front derailleur S40
Hallo, i did not have the time too put it on mijn S40. There are some private probleme's that at this moment are very important too solve for me. But the service is great from you all. Thanks greating from the Netherlands
