TOP THREE RIDES

1 Any ride where I start from my house. There are so many great rides in the Willamette Valley, from flat, low traffic farm roads to challenging climbs.

2 Jefferson via Buena Vista. Riding with Mid Valley Bicycle Club members from Corvallis to Jefferson via the Buena Vista ferry, stopping in Jefferson for great Mexican food at La Espiga restaurant and then home (60 miles).

3 Decker Ridge. Leaving from my house this 27 mile loop with includes over 1300 ft of climbing without one stoplight.

TELL US HOW YOU CHOSE CRUZBIKE

I had been riding recumbent bikes since 2002 but I missed the climbing ability I had enjoyed on my upright bikes. When Maria Parker won the female division in the Race Across America I thought I might have found a recumbent that could out climb every other recumbent. I was right!

TELL US SOMETHING INTERESTING ABOUT YOURSELF

Contrarian by nature, when I retired I moved from Florida to Oregon.

I'VE BECOME AN EVANGELIST

DESCRIBE YOUR
CRUZBIKE LIFESTYLE

Being a Cruzbiker means being in on a secret very few other cyclists are aware of: that a recumbent bike can not only be comfortable but can be competitive with conventional diamond frame bikes. I have become an evangelist for Cruzbike and never miss an opportunity to extol their virtues.

TELL US WHAT A GENUINE
CRUZBIKE MOMENT
LOOKS LIKE FOR YOU

Rocketing down the road on my Silvio with a string of diamond frame bike riders strung out behind me. On the other hand I get as much enjoyment out of casually riding my Freerider around town.

THREE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE HOW RIDING CRUZBIKE MAKES YOU FEEL:

Oneness (totally engaged with the bike). Joyful. Proud (pride of ownership).
