Cruzbike T50 Tour: Planning and packing for a cycling vacation by RV
Jim has some significant time off this spring and summer during a job transition. We both wanted to use the time for some special adventures. We love the comfort and upright seating position of the Cruzbike T50. Our plan was to take an 11 day trip with our new RV. Instead of pulling a car, we decided to use the T50s both for practical transportation, such as going to the grocery store, and for cycling in places we’d long wanted to cycle. We knew we wanted to go south and wanted both beach and woodsy mountain experiences.
Two days before departure we finally hashed out a plan.
We decided to do a large loop of the Southern US. The planned track is below. We will, however, stay flexible if the weather or other conditions invites it.
According to Google Maps, it’s about 1,850 miles and 28 hours of driving.
The first stop is in Borden Springs, Alabama where we will camp right off the Chief Ladiga trail, which connects with the Silver Comet Trail in Georgia. We are expecting good weather there and hope to get a good ride in.
After settling on an itinerary, we began to make a list of what we’d need to bring.
We are not light packers, but we usually still forget something important. Below is my packing list.
